According to this study, there has been a change in the attitude of parents towards gaming in the last few years. Moreover, gaming is no longer limited to a specific demographic. About 75 percent of gamers in India are Gen-Z, 67 percent of gamers are millennials, and 58 percent of gamers are women.

One in three gamers in India prefers to play games mainly for two reasons – money and recognition. There is also the joy and fun of playing games with friends. Demand for gaming has increased this year compared to 2022, HP said.

According to the company’s survey, revenue from gaming in India has increased this year compared to last year. About 50 percent of serious gamers, who consider gaming as a career, claim to have earned between Rs 6 lakh and Rs 12 lakh per year just by playing games.

In this context, Ipsita Dasgupta, Senior Vice President and Managing Director of HP India, said that India is among the top three countries in the world for PC gaming. We also bring innovation and cutting-edge tools for gamers. Through this survey we have been able to understand the passions and aspirations of the gaming community.

Essentially, the e -sports industry , various career opportunities and the possibility of additional income – these three factors have created a demand for gaming among Indians. 42 percent of parents welcomed the decision to choose gaming as a career.

The survey also stated that 40 percent of parents admitted that they had developed a positive attitude towards gaming in the past few years. However, their concerns about the sustainability of gaming careers and its impact on society have not completely subsided.
